为深入实施工业互联网创新发展战略、全面贯彻习近平总书记关于加快发展工业互联网的重要指示精神，贯彻新发展理念、构建新发展格局，2018年11月1日，经中央编办批准，中国工业互联网研究院（简称工联院）正式成立。主要职责是承担工业互联网相关的发展战略、规划、政策和标准研究，标识解析体系和网络、平台、安全体系建设，推进国际交流与合作。2019年12月23日，中央编办批复我院加挂工业和信息化部密码应用研究中心牌子，相应增加工业和信息化行业密码基础设施建设、应用研究、标准制定、安全性评估及相关的检测认证、人才培养和宣传培训等职能。

2019年6月3日，工业和信息化部党组第13次会议研究确定由中国工业互联网研究院承担国家工业互联网大数据中心建设及管理工作。中国工业互联网研究院以中国工业互联网研究院区域分院与国家工业互联网大数据中心区域（行业）分中心为载体，全力打造工业互联网创新发展服务体系。

2019年12月27日，成立中国工业互联网研究院技术专家委员会，由35位院士、58位业内专家学者组成，并聘请中国工程院院士、阿里云创始人王坚为首席科学家。技术专家委员会内设顾问组和专题组，顾问组由两院院士组成，专题组由平台、网络、安全、大数据与人工智能、行业应用、工业APP等6个技术方向组成，为我院提供了高质量的外脑支撑。 

China Academy of Industrial Internet (CAII) was founded on November 1, 2018, approved by the State Commission Office of Public Sectors Reform (SCOPSR). Our mission is to promote the innovation and development strategy for industrial Internet, comprehensively implement the instructions of President Xi Jinping on speeding up the development of China’s industrial Internet, thoroughly apply the new concepts for development and build a new development pattern. Our main responsibilities include research on industrial Internet-related development strategies, planning, policies and standards, building of identification resolution systems and networks, platforms and security systems, and facilitate international exchanges and cooperation. On December 23, 2019, upon approval of SCOPSR, another identity as Cryptographic Application Research Center of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was added to CAII, along with new functions including cryptographic infrastructure development, application studies, standards development, security assessment as well as testing and certification, training and education, and publicity for industrial and information technology industry.
