The Shenzhen Academy of Robotics (SZAR) is an international R&D institution established by the Shenzhen Municipal Government with the vision of becoming a global leader in research and knowledge transfer activities related to robotics, intelligent systems, and advanced manufacturing. Currently, SZAR has its main technology development focus in: advanced intelligent sensing systems, intelligent information systems and equipment, industrial robots and automation, bio/micro/nano robots, and special/custom-built robots. The SZAR's core mission is to promote the robotics industry cluster development in Southern China and build an advanced robotics and intelligent systems technology platform accessible by robotics-related industries around Shenzhen. With world-leading technology innovation as its fundamental value, SZAR aims to promote technological innovations in China's robotics industry by serving as an organization for knowledge transfer, personnel training, international academic exchange, and provide multi-faceted technical services related to robotics and intelligent systems.
The SZAR will strive to build a world-renowned and best-in-China "Chinese Robotics Research and Development Base". The Academy houses some of the best high-tech equipment related to robotics and automation in the world, and hosts research teams led by foreign and domestic global technology experts in robotics, sensors, and intelligent systems. A long-term goal of the Academy is to centralize global resources for high-tech R&D activities in robotics and intelligent systems in Shenzhen, and share its technological advancements with the world.
